According to Buckingham Palace, Queen Elizabeth II and husband Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, have received the COVID-19 vaccine.

As per reports, the Queen wanted to make a public announcement about the vaccination. She wanted to clarify all rumors and speculations concerning whether or not they would take the vaccine.

A household doctor from Windsor Castle administered the usage of COVID-19 vaccines on Her Majesty and the Prince.

Britain starts mass vaccination

Britain started a vaccination program on Tuesday and marked the historic event. People who were above the age of 80 were the first in line to receive the vaccine. People were curious to know if the monarchs were going to take the vaccine or not.

Dominic Raab, the British Foreign Secretary, is one of Britain’s vaccination program members. He informed Savannah Guthrie in the “Today” show at NBC that it was unlikely for royals to get their vaccines publicly. He said he was unsure if they would want to come on camera in the process. However, they would make arrangements the set out a phased approach. He also said that like any other family, the royals have also been worried about the pressures related to the pandemic.

The vaccine rollout in England marked the first Western country to tackle COVID-19. They have started a mass immunization program that has never been seen before in history.

Prince Charles and Prince William were infected in spring

Coronavirus hit very close to the royal household when Prince Charles and Prince William had the infection. Prince Charles is currently 72 years old and the next heir to the British throne. He tested positive after facing mild symptoms while being at the Clarence House – his official residence.

A statement was sent out saying that the Prince of Wales has tested positive for COVID. It also expressed that he has mild symptoms and is otherwise in good health. The Prince worked from home during his illness. With time, the Prince recovered completely.

Prince William, The Duke of Cambridge, was also suffering from the coronavirus during springtime. However, the news was secret until November 2020 to keep the nation out of worry.

The 38-year-old is second in line to the royal throne and was reportedly positive with the virus in April. The news went out when Britain was preparing for one more lockdown. However, Kensington Palace said that they neither agree nor deny the news of Prince William testing positive.
