Careline Operator (Vol)
Location: Reading
Hours: Flexible (Careline operating hours are Mon-Sat 12-6pm)
Careline Operators take calls on all aspects of daily life with a stoma, for example: stoma management, clothing, travel, work and relationships. We offer impartial advice, information and support to anyone with a stoma, those facing surgery, their family, friends and carers, and we portray a positive image of having a stoma at all times.
All advisors are given full training on stoma lifestyle issues and will gain a nationally recognised qualification in telephone helpline skills.
Volunteer Careline Operators must have had stoma surgery (either a colostomy, ileostomy, urostomy or related procedures) and must have a positive attitude towards living with a stoma. Good communication skills and a comfortable telephone manner are desirable.
For a job description and person specification please email admin@ostomylifestyle.org or call Neil Basil on 0118 324 0069 for an informal chat.
NB: Whenever Ostomy Lifestyle recruits volunteers or temporary staff we will endeavour to employ people who have had stoma surgery after long periods of illness, in order to gain valuable work experience and references, speeding their return to paid employment. |
